Enable or Disable Hibernation in Windows 7 command line

Hibernation is a useful feature in Windows. However, it takes a lot of space. Space usage depends on the amount of RAM / RAM usage at the time of hibernation. My office laptop has a 24GB RAM and It liberated close 17GB hard disk space upon disabling it. Since my laptop has a 223GB SSD drive for storage. That is hardly sufficient for my needs.

To enable / disable, open command prompt run as administrator. Issue the commands

powercfg.exe /hibernate on

powercfg.exe /hibernate off
